The Lyndon First Year Experience (FLYE) program creates a sense of belonging and connection between first year students and Lyndon traditions.
The first-year program offers an environment of:
- Support networks of faculty, staff, and upper-class students who share responsibility for the well-being and success of new students
- Active integration of new students into the life of the college
- Purposeful and engaging learning opportunities both in- and out-of-the-classroom
First Major Activity
Most incoming students will select a specialized area that they want to study at Lyndon State. But what is that major really like?
At the end of the third week classes, each department organizes a daylong event that highlights your field of study. It's a chance to explore the discipline or profession outside the classroom. It may be a hike and a meal in the natural world that surrounds campus or a bus trip to Boston or Montreal. Whatever the activity, it is a day when like-minded students and faculty spend a day exploring their mutual areas of interest.
