Standards from 2000 NEASC Self-study Report
This link is to LSC’s most recent decennial self-study report (the “full” self-study report). More specifically, the link is to the 80-page “core” of that report (the complete report was about 180 pages). This “core” is the largest and most important single section of the report. It is organized according to NEASC’s eleven accreditation Standards and is written in a specific format: each Standard has three sub-sections - Description, Appraisal, and Projection. It is posted here to provide the Steering Committee with a general feeling for “where we are going.”
First, please keep in mind that this link is to the final version of the report. This version was the result of much abstracting, summarizing, and organizing of items from the detailed reports submitted by the 2000 Steering Committee in order to produce a concise, focused report in the pages allowed. As a point of reference, the 2010 Steering Committee is now at the first step: gathering the information necessary for subsequent drafting of the Description sub-section for each Standard. Second, this version does not emphasize formal assessment nearly as much as we need to emphasize it in the 2010 report.
Narration from 2005 NEASC Fifth Year Update Report
This link is to LSC’s most recent penta-cennial self-study report (a short “mini” self-study-report, submitted mid-way between decennial self study reports to keep NEASC informed of institutional activities). Specifically, the link is to all sections of the report except for the (out-of-date) data section. It is posted here to provide the Steering Committee with a copy of the latest official information that NEASC has on LSC.
Although, in theory, the 2010 Self-study Report covers the period 2000-2010, because of the fast pace of change in American higher education, NEASC said that they prefer that our 2010 report emphasis the institutional activities occurring after the 2005 report. We can allude to the 2000-2005 period only if it adds necessary context to items for the 2005-2010 period. Please keep this in mind as you gather and write your information for the drafting of the Description sub-sections.
