Congratulations! You’ve worked your way through high school, survived the summer after your senior year and are about to embark on your college career. What better way to dive headfirst into a life changing experience than to head out on an unknown adventure with some unknown people. Here at Lyndon State, we take seriously the impacts that you face as you enter into this new world and have developed an opportunity for the truly adventurous called the Lyndon State Outdoor Orientation Program. LOOP works hard at making sure that your first foot in the door here at Lyndon sets you on a positive path by giving you time in an outdoor setting to get to know new people, work on some new skills, and ask questions of student leaders in an informal environment.

Lyndon offers an extended orientation program for incoming first-year students that features:

• Camping
• Backpacking
• Small group development
• Advising

LOOP makes sure that you enter your first year of college with:

• New friends who share your love of adventure and the outdoors
• New skills in the areas of adventure and teamwork
• Information from Lyndon adventure pros, upper level students who will help you learn the ropes

LOOP and SOAR

Students going through the LOOP program need to participate in a SOAR program BEFORE the program begins.  Students participate in Fall Kick-Off immediately prior to the beginning of classes.
