Choices, Choices…
Lyndon has both a traditional dining hall (Stevens Hall) as well as a snack bar (The Hornet’s Nest).
Lyndon’s food services are provided by Aramark, a leading provider of dining, facilities, and conference center management to colleges, universities, and preparatory schools. Aramark serves over 600 educational institutions across North America. In 2011 the company was ranked number one in their industry in Fortune Magazine’s listing of the “World’s Most Admired Companies.”
On special days during the academic calendar such as Spring Day, Earth Day, and Club Sign-Up Day, Aramark serves barbecue lunch outdoors around Fountain Pond—weather permitting. They also host Sustainability Lunches to focus on locally sourced foods and producers who embody environmentally sound practices. A highlight of that event is a bicycle-powered blender where students can make human-powered fruit smoothies.
All residents on campus are required to carry one of three residential meal plans unless they reside in the Rita L. Bole Complex or the S.E.R.V.I.C.E. House (Gray House). Other exceptions are made when serious health-related situations exist that can be documented by a physician. Residents can change meal plans within the first week of classes only. After the first week of classes, meal plans cannot be changed.
Commuter students may also carry a meal plan if they so choose.
The Stevens Dining Hall
The Stevens Dining Hall is centrally located between the Stonehenge, Wheelock, and Rita Bole residence halls. This is not your parent’s dining hall! Fresh meals are prepared before your eyes moments before serving. Enjoy a wide variety of delicious food offerings including brands such as Bene Pizza, Montagues Deli, Grille Works and Green Mountain Coffee; traditional home-style favorites like roasted turkey with stuffing; authentic international cuisine; or try one of our made to order wraps or salads.
There are separate stations for deli-style sandwiches, the salad bar, beverages, desserts, and ice cream.
