  • Yes. Courses are offered at Lyndon during the summer (some on campus, some online). The summer schedule is typically available by mid-February so students can plan accordingly.
  • Registration for summer courses at Lyndon takes place at the same time as registration for the next fall semester.
  • Students can also take courses at another college during the summer IF the school is regionally accredited.
Print an “Off Campus Study” form here Off Campus Study. Complete the form with consultation from your advisor, attach a course description to the form, and bring both to the Registrar’s Office. You will be notified of the approval of your request via Lyndon email. If you receive a C- or better in the class, and have received prior approval, the course will transfer to your Lyndon records. IMPORTANT: Once you have completed the course, request that an official transcript be sent to:

    Lyndon State College

    Senior – 90+ credits

Visit http://www.lyndonstate.edu/students-faculty-staff/offices-services/student-services-center/ and click on the “Important Dates” tab at the top of the page. This will display the dates and deadlines for the current academic year.

  • First you must meet with your advisor and receive pre-approval, each term, before you can register yourself on-line for classes. Log in to the portal and go to the Web Services links on the right hand side of the page. Click on the Register for Classes link. Be sure to check that your name and academic program show correctly. If it does, click on “Correct” and proceed. If the information is incorrect, follow the instructions on the screen.
  • There are two ways to select classes – Express Registration or Search and Register. Either method may be used to place the desired sections in a preferred section batch file from which final registration can be made. Several sections may be selected to see which fit the best. If you know the unique section synonyms or know the exact section information, use Express Registration (this is, by far, the easiest way to register). Enter either just the synonyms, or the subject, course number, and section number for each section. ALWAYS BE SURE TO SELECT THE TERM FOR WHICH YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR EACH SECTION – THIS WILL MAKE THE SEARCH MUCH FASTER! Then, hit submit. This selects the chosen sections and places them into a preferred sections batch for registration. Do not forget to select labs for those sections that require them.
  • If you do not know the section information, select Search and Register for Sections, enter the term and at least one other piece of information such as location (LSC) or academic level (UG), and submit. Once the list is created, select the sections to place in the preferred section batch for registration by clicking in the box next to each section and then clicking submit. This selects the chosen sections and places them into a preferred sections batch for registration. Do not forget to select labs for those sections that require them. YOU ARE NOT FINISHED YET!
  • Select Register for all sections or individually for each desired section and hit submit. You can also remove sections from the batch by selecting RM instead of RG. If the section is open and the requisites have been met, when you submit, the appropriate action will take place. If not, a warning will appear at the top of the page explaining the problem. It is always recommended that you look at your schedule in Web Services, after registration, to ensure that your schedule appears the way you thought it would and to verify days and times of classes.

If the computer will not allow you to add a class, it may be the class is full, you do not have the pre-requisites for the course or you need the instructor’s permission. Then you will need to fill out an add/drop slip, get the instructor’s signature and submit your add slip to the registrar’s office for processing. You do not need a signature to drop a class but must submit drop slip within the time limits to avoid a charge. See Important Dates (http://www.lyndonstate.edu/students-faculty-staff/offices-services/student-services-center/).

Please note: you cannot ADD classes on-line after the first week of the fall and spring semesters, and you cannot DROP classes on-line after the second week of the fall and spring semesters. Adds and drops must be done with an add/drop slip after those time periods. As of the first day of the summer term, ALL adds and drops must be done with an add/drop slip – none can be done on-line.

Print this form- Change of Major-Advisor Form.

You may change your major and/or advisor by simply filling out this form and submitting it to the Registrar’s Office for processing. Advisors are assigned to majors and the Registrar’s Office will assign you an advisor based on your change of major. You can request a specific advisor if you wish, but it is necessary for you to obtain a signature from that person before submitting your form. It is advised that you check out your new program in the catalog to familiarize yourself with the requirements of your new major.

Your program evaluation should be used only to check the successful completion of required classes for your degree. Because the evaluation takes into consideration items such as repeated classes, basic skills (pre-college) classes, etc., you cannot use the program evaluation to check on the number of credits you have used – you need to use your unofficial transcript to check earned credits. The unofficial transcript can be found on Web Services -“Student Academic Profile” and then “Transcript”. Pick the LUG option for completed classes, or the LDAU (for undergraduate) or LDAG (for graduate) option for completed classes plus classes in which you are currently enrolled.

Transcript Request

Lyndon State College is pleased to announce that we are now using Transcripts on Demand by SCRIP-SAFE International as its trusted agent for processing all transcript requests as well as delivering academic transcripts electronically (for students attending Lyndon State College after Fall 1986). This process, is completely secure. This is a “green initiative’ that provides you with the fastest delivery time; is totally secure; and provides you and Lyndon with total tracking of delivery and receipt.

• OneTime Delivery- If your intended recipient is not a network member (including a transcript sent to you), your transcript can still be delivered electronically to anyone anywhere in the world. Receivers are designated and identified by you, the requestor, through the recipient’s email address.

• Network Delivery- Many colleges, universities and other agencies are members of SCRIP-SAFE’s secure network and actively receive electronic transcripts. Please check network recipients to see if your intended destination is a network member.

Your transcript is never delivered by email – instead your recipient is notified by email that your transcript is available for pickup at the specific “one-time” URL identified in the email. To insure prompt delivery and receipt, make sure the recipient knows that you are sending them an electronic transcript and will accept the electronic version. Finally, ask the receiver to white list @escrip-safe.com.

TO ORDER YOUR TRANSCRIPT:

If you are a current student, or a former student who still has an active Lyndon portal account, you log in to the portal.(we will no longer have paper-based forms available for transcript requests). Your login is your verification of identity so, per Vermont State College policy, NEVER share your log in information with anyone. After logging in, click on the link called “Transcript Request” (to the right of the screen) to access Transcripts on Demand and submit your request. A $3.00 processing fee for each recipient (transcript addressee) is charged by SCRIP-SAFE. You will pay for your transcript via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover). The most current security available is used to protect your credit card and personal information.

You can check the status of your transcript request at any time by logging on to Transcript Request on the portal and selecting the “Review Past Orders” tab. You will also receive email notifications of your order status.

If you are a former student without an active portal account, please log in to https://iwantmytranscript.com/lyndonstate (we will no longer have paper-based forms available for transcript requests). The first time you use this service you will establish an account. The process is simple and asks for your current/former name(s), address, student ID, dates of attendance and other information. Because Federal Law (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) requires your signature in order to release your academic records, you must complete a Consent Form and return it as directed before your first request can be processed. The signed Consent Form remains on file with SCRIP-SAFE to cover your future Lyndon transcript requests through this service.

You will pay for your transcript via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover). The most current security available is used to protect your credit card and personal information. A $3.00 processing fee for each recipient (transcript addressee) is charged by SCRIP-SAFE.

You can check the status of your transcript request at any time by logging on to Transcripts on Demand (https://iwantmytranscript.com/lyndonstate) and selecting the “Review Past Orders” tab. You will also receive email notifications of your order status.

Please allow 5 working days for processing your request; up to 15 working days if your request is at the beginning or end of a semester. Any current or former student who has a “hold” on their account for any reason, such as unpaid fees or unreturned library materials, etc., will not receive transcript services until the reasons for the hold are satisfied.
